Happy New Year! Like many other New Years, you may be tempted to dive right into a diet after all that wonderful holiday feasting.
Before you do that, let me tell you a story . . .
I used to think the way to be healthy was counting calories and buying “healthy” and “low-fat” foods in the form of bars, boxes and bags. I would do dreadful workouts only to be disappointed by the results. I thought the scale had all the answers.
Then I realized I was doing healthy all wrong. That version of healthy made me hate being healthy. It was no fun and usually short-lived until the New Year came around again. It was time for a new approach.
That’s when my aha moment came: What I really wanted was a healthy lifestyle that I enjoyed. One that makes me feel energized and fit, and fuels my health and happiness. One that works with my office-dwelling weekdays and fun-loving weekends.
And that’s how the philosophy for Well on the Go was born. It employs real food (made quick!), fun healthy habits and the power of the daily routine to make wellness work with your busy life. It’s truly a healthful lifestyle strategy.
So as you dance around dieting again, I invite you to consider a new approach to being healthy this year:
Count the number of healthy habits instead of pounds.
Check for nourishing ingredients in your food instead of calories.
Transform your daily routine into a health-empowering ritual.
Focus on how you feel instead of how you look.
Create a healthful lifestyle that you love and ditch the diet for good!
My promise to you is that I’ll continue to share loads of inspiration (recipes, tips, tricks and more) so you can do just that. Use what you like to create the healthful lifestyle that works best for you.
